Salvadorean Olympic hopeful Bryan 'The Pink Panther' Perez revealed he receive a wildcard posting a quiver made for the El Salvador Pro. The WSL today confirmed his wildcard spot in the upcoming event. He will be matched up with John John Florence and Liam O'Brien in the opening round.
Making his return to the WCT after injury last year, Joao Chianca will be the other Men's wildcard in the draw. It is not clear if he is returning for the rest of the season or just the Surf City event.
Costa Rican Leilani McGonagle and Lakey Peterson received the women's wildcards.
Lakey was runner up in El Salvador in 2022 losing to Steph Gilmore, but suffered early elimination in 2023. Leilani McGonagle was in the contest last year losing in the Elimination round.
