Los Angeles 1/10/2025

It's been 4 days since hurricane strength Santa Ana winds ravaged Los Angeles and fueled fires that would destroy homes, business and scorch thousands of acres. At least 11 are dead and the fires are still burning. 

We've been on a see-saw ride of false evacuation warnings, then fires near our home extinguished...only to see others start. There is debris strewn about the city with trees and power lines down and ash covering everything like a dusting of grey snow. 

Today I went to the eastern part of Altadena just 20 minutes away from my home to capture images of the tragedy. I think it's important for those outside of Los Angeles to see what is going on and show just a small piece of the devastation.

Seeing the neighborhoods first hand was heartbreaking. While some homes where completely gutted others had green lawns and Christmas decorations. The randomness is tragic. Looking at the ashes and rubble in these photos I can still smell the burning plastic and feel the sense of loss. Pray for our journey on the long road of rebuilding our city.​
